Public lobbying for the implementation of certain EU standards in the field of ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities
The project “Public Lobbying for the Implementation of EU Standards in the Field of Ensuring the Right to Work for People with Disabilities” continued in 2014. This year, the focus was on implementing the 2013 recommendations and strengthening cooperation with government agencies and employers.
Monitoring of job availability and employers' readiness for inclusive approaches was conducted. Working conditions were partially improved and employers' awareness was raised. However, problems remain: incomplete implementation of the right to work, limited opportunities for professional development, and lack of systematic control over compliance with standards.
The work of 2014 contributed to reducing the gap between formal rights and their actual implementation, and also laid the foundation for the further development of inclusive policies in Ukraine.
