Monitoring of decisions to bring judges to disciplinary responsibility
On March 12, 2016, a working meeting of representatives of the Kharkiv city public organization "Institute for Applied Humanitarian Research" with members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJU) took place. The event was held within the framework of the project "Monitoring of Decisions on Bringing Judges to Disciplinary Responsibility", which is implemented by the Institute with the support of USAID "Fair Justice".
The project, which has been ongoing since February 1, 2016, involves analyzing disciplinary decisions of the Supreme Judicial Council of Ukraine, the High Council of Justice, and the Supreme Judicial Council of Ukraine for 2015–2016, studying their impact on the behavior of judges, and preparing recommendations for preventing typical violations. It is also aimed at expanding public participation in monitoring the activities of judicial governance bodies.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on the format of the HQCJU's participation in the project and determined further steps of cooperation, taking into account the current legislation in the field of disciplinary liability of judges. The participants emphasized the importance of further interaction to increase the transparency and effectiveness of disciplinary practice.
